This family-run hotel, lying high in the mountain town of St Andreasberg in the Harz National Park, offers a haven for nature lovers and a great base for sporting enthusiasts.

The Pension Hanneli hotel is surrounded by nature and you can savour amazing views from many of the rooms, as the town is the highest in the Harz region.

The staff is only too happy to help guests plan their trips, whether hiking, biking, motor-biking or taking day trips. They can even organise private guides. Room information

All rooms are furnished with an ensuite, satellite TV and a radio. The southern rooms, veranda and terrace all have a commanding view over the toboggan run. Both room service and a laundry service are possible.

Food & beverage

The hearty breakfast buffet is served between 08:00 and 10:00. It ranges from cold cuts to healthy muesli. A selection of food is also provided for those with special nutritional requirements.

The restaurant opening hours are from 11:00 until 20:00, although food can be prepared outside these times if requested in advance. Specialities from the Harz region and various seasonal dishes are served here, including delicious game and asparagus dishes.

Half and full board can be booked once at the hotel. This includes a 2-course evening meal.

High chairs and a kid’s menu are provided for children.

In the high season, the hotel opens up its barbecue hut for guests.

Please note that between 01 April and 15 June dogs should be kept on a leash in the forest.

St Andreasberg has the highest guarantee of snow in the Harz National Park and lies centrally in a nationally approved, healthy-climate spa resort. Around the town are over 220 km of signed hiking and biking trails, and 44 km of cross-country ski-tracks.

Close by is the historical Grube Samson (Samson silver mine), the Harzer Roller Canary Museum, and the summer toboggan run (530 metres long).

Highlights of the various seasons include the Winterfest, Walpurgis day and Johannisfest.

Other activities around the area include mini-golf, tennis, mountain biking, swimming, skiing, tobogganing, high rope courses, guided hiking and much more.

Travel information

The nearest railway station to the hotel is Scharzfeld, about 25 km away. From here bus number 1 or 2 can take you to St Andreasberg in about 50 minutes. A taxi from the station to the hotel will cost around EUR 30.

By car:
- From the A7 motorway take the exit for Seesen. Take the 242 towards Clausthal-Zellerfeld.
- When you have passed through Clausthal-Zellerfeld continue until you come to Sonnenberg. In the town turn right towards St. Andreasberg.
- When you come into the town take the second street on the right-hand side. The hotel is the second house along.
